A different kind of yellow.

A different kind of yellow.

There’s a colour quietly making its way into interiors this season. Not bold, not overpowering… just warm, soft, and a little unexpected.

Butter yellow.

It’s been around in fashion for a while now. Light knits, easy dresses… the kind of pieces you reach for without thinking too much. And somehow, it’s made its way into the home in the same way.

I think it works because it sits somewhere in between. Not neutral, but not loud either. Just enough to catch the light. Especially now, when many local spaces have settled into neutrals consisting only of beiges and creams… and perhaps stayed there a little too comfortably.

A piece like the Blanc Butter Yellow Ceramic Vase brings that shift quietly. It doesn’t ask for attention, but it changes the feeling of a room. Even on its own, it holds warmth. Placed on a lighter rug and paired with a softly textured cushion nearby, it settles into the space effortlessly… adding warmth without asking for too much attention.

It’s also easy to live with. With soft whites and natural linens, it feels calm. Next to warmer tones, it deepens. Add something contrasting and it becomes a little more playful. Like in front of a  standard warm coloured boucle cushion. It'll make itself stand out even more.

It moves well between styles too. Softening minimal spaces. Settling easily into more expressive ones. There’s something familiar about it… which makes it easier to take the step.

Because sometimes, all a space needs is one small change. Something that gently nudges it away from the expected.

And if that happens to be a little butter yellow… it might not be a bad place to start.
